Fare deal: Dublin to Beijing via Copenhagen, SAS business class €1,562 / £1339 return
SAS Scandinavian Airlines doesn't often get a mention on this blog, despite it being one of our most-loved Star Alliance airlines due to their 200% mileage earning rates when crediting to Aegean Airlines Miles and Bonus, for which you only need 24000 miles to upgrade yourself from Star Alliance Silver to Star Alliance Gold.
Two round trips on this fare and you're 95% of the way there.
While the €1562 fare isn't the outright cheapest we've seen recently heading towards the Far East, it certainly is a competitive fare over a relatively short departure period, around Christmas time this year.
You can dig around for other available dates over here on Skyscanner,
The route
Find yourself a cheap way to get to Dublin, where the ticket begins. You will need to connect in Copenhagen that is the only connection along the whole route. There is also a possibility to connect in Stockholm instead of Copenhagen for a similar price but then your Stockholm-Beijing leg will be operated by Air China instead, which carries a different earning rate (125-150% compared to 200% for SAS)
Dates you can travel
You will need to take your outbound flight some time between 20th-31st December 2019, and a minimum stay of 3 days. But the return leg can be taken several months afterwards. Play around with some dates and you should be able to find yourself the same fare.
