Club Carlson’s latest promotion. Stay 1 night get 2000 points, Stay 2 or more nights get 5000 points

Club Carlson’s launched their newest promotion a few days ago. It works pretty similarly to their previous promotion, except with much fewer points being offered. Disappointingly rather than getting up to 10 000 bonus points the maximum is 5 000.

Hotel Des Indes lied to me about Suite availability.

I’ve just checked in at Hotel Des Indes in The Hague for the night, having booked a standard room not too long ago. I also hold Starwood Preferred Guest Platinum, which entitles me to an upgrade to the highest available ‘normal’ suite. For this hotel this is the Junior Suite.

Earning air miles on World Hotel stays

I have a friend who’s staying in Grand Winston Den Haag (The Hague) in Rijswijk, and asked me about what to do in terms of air miles on his hotel stay. World Hotels don’t have a loyalty programme…yet. They announced the launch of one in February this year but I still haven’t seen anything being realised. But even…

What do you do with your expired or current airline membership cards?

I did start to wonder if I was mad hoarding all the new membership cards every year, until I got some inspiration from a few travellers at the airport proudly displaying their shiny baggage tags.

Visa prepaid. The Eurozone’s game-changer.

I feel this is a turning point for the Eurozone. You see, in The Netherlands, consumer debt (i.e. credit cards) isn’t prevalent at all. It’s nigh-on impossible to use any credit cards here, not even when buying train tickets or your doing your weekly groceries. Thus manufactured-spending is extremely difficult. I haven’t even got a…

Trip report: British Airways ex-BMI A321 Club World Amman to London Heathrow

I’d just spent the last two nights sleeping in Etihad’s Pearl Business Class lounge in Abu Dhabi and Royal Jordanian’s Crown Lounge in Amman prior to this flight. Two consecutive 13-hour layovers in airport lounges isn’t everyone’s idea of fun but this was my final straight and I hadn’t been home in 3 months. I…
