I decided to spend winter in Asia this year for being somewhat annoyed at the freezing weathers of my London home. However, my 3 months there had to come to an end so I could begin my UK to Netherlands housemoving.
I first outlined the journey plan in this post and so the trip report roughly follows this. There are a couple of omissions though: The SATS Premier Lounge at Singapore Chiangi Airport Terminal 2, and the British Airways arrivals lounge at London Heathrow Terminal 5. In both cases I was a little rushed for time and didn't really have a chance to properly review them. I can tell you up front though that the SATS Premier lounge really isn't anything good, and BA's T5 Arrivals Lounge I'm sure I'll be back to do another review soon!
In all this trip cost me 30,000 American Airlines AAdvantage miles plus ?13 which got me as far as Amman, Jordan. Then the final AMM-LHR sector was 25,000 Avios plus ?66.70.
I wasn't aware at the time, but the British Airways leg would be on the newly-refurbished A321 aircrafts in British Midland livery. This was a bit of a mystery because pictures were hard to come by. But after I finally managed to fly it, I was pretty happy. Here's a sneak preview from seat 1A:
and compare that to the standard Club World offering which I thought I'd be getting:
So stay tuned and I'll be doing the Cathay Pacific lounge at TPE in the next installment!
