New 787-10 Finally Here
Back in November last year, we wrote that BA would be flying its new 787-10 fleet between London and Atlanta in February this year, and a few other routes that were scheduled prior to this global pandemic.
Well after several months of delays its first 787-10, registration G-ZBLA arrived at Heathrow, as the tweet below shows. I was expecting a press release although this has not arrived yet. We are expecting a second aircraft arriving in the next couple of days.

The 787-10s will feature eight First Class seats and 48 Club Suite seats. It was expected to still fly to Atlanta in July as its first route but digging around in Google Flights this is not yet bookable. At this point in time it's a case of just wait and see.
BA Holidays Guarantee
British Airways Holidays is launching its Customer Promise to provide customers complete peace of mind when booking a holiday.
One very crucial difference between booking on ba.com for flights only versus ba.com/holidays is the much lower cash deposit (between 10%-30% depending on which pricing band your total amount falls into), which in a time when airlines are responding much slower to refunds, can be quite a crucial distinction. You will need to settle any outstanding balance three weeks prior to travel.
The Customer Promise is as follows – quoted from ba.com/holidays:
We’ll let you change your plans | If you book a holiday before 31 August 2020 for travel up to 30 April 2021, we’ll let you amend your booking for free (just pay the difference in price) or cancel it and get a voucher for travel up until 30 April 2022 – view the full policy here.
We’ll let you manage your payments flexibly | Secure your booking with a deposit from as little as £75pp, pay off the balance in instalments, and your final payment is not due until three weeks before your holiday starts. Find out more here.
We’re committed to hotel safety standards | We have asked all our accommodation partners to sign up to our new Covid-19 minimum standards, created in line with World Health Organization guidance, to ensure you can enjoy your holiday safely. Find out more here
We’ve introduced extra measures on British Airways flights| You’ll see changes at every step of the journey when you fly with us, with new measures on the ground and in the air. Find out more here
We’re here for you when you need us | We have a 24-hour holiday helpline for any issues whilst you’re away, and if your plans change or the unexpected happens, we will prioritise getting you home as soon as possible.
We’ll act responsibly and without delay | In the event that we cannot fulfil your holiday package, in keeping with our obligations under the Package Travel Regulations, you will receive a full refund within 14 days.
We’ll always protect you and your money | All our holidays are ATOL protected, for complete peace of mind.
If you already have a BA Holidays booking, you should check ba.com/confidence regularly for updates for any changes to its travel policies due to Coronavirus.
