VERY URGENT: Did British Airways email you to say your flight is cancelled? DO THIS CHECK – it might actually not be cancelled!
Talk about another catastrophic British Airways IT blunder…
With yesterday's announcement that BA pilots will be striking over three days in September (9th, 10th, 27th) there have been many, many reports of flights NOT on these dates being cancelled.
It's slowly transpiring that many emails to customers have been sent in error.
If you have received an email you should check “Manage My Booking” and check the status of your flight. If it says it is still going ahead then your flight is still going ahead, even if you received an email.
If you have already booked another flight with British Airways as a result of one of your emails then you should call customer services if you want to re-instate your flight. They are understandably overwhelmed with calls today so do be patient!
If for whatever reason you made alternative arrangements with a competitor airline and accepted your refund with British Airways, I'm afraid you're going to be out of luck, sadly.
