This is the second of two parts to describe which British Airways planes have wifi. The first part focussed on long haul aircraft, and this will be all short haul.
One or two days before your flight you should enter your flight number into Flightradar24 and see which aircraft is likely to be scheduled for your flight. Of course there may be substitutions but you can assess your chances based on this.
According to the BA's wifi on-board page it claims to be aiming for about 90% coverage by the end of 2019 across its entire fleet. When we add up the numbers in the post below though it does not come close to 90%, so either the systems have already been installed but not yet enabled, or they will miss their targets.

Cost of WiFi
The cost of WiFi on short haul flights is dependant on the route and the speed required.
£1.99 or £2.99 depending on flight distance. This is more or less sufficient for instant messaging services such as Facebook Messenger, Whatsapp or iMessage.
Browse & Stream
“Browse and Stream” packages are either offered as one hour (£4.99) or for the whole flight. The cost for the whole flight very much depends on the route though, ranging from £4.99 for the shortest to £9.99 for the longest – e.g. Eastern Europe.
For reference I paid £7.99 between London Heathrow and Helsinki. The WiFi was rather unstable and the connection kept dropping in-and-out, thus rendering it more or less useless. I filed a complaint and received a full refund a week later.
